For those that don’t know about Boss Steeler Chick – well you’re missing out. Since I have become friends with her on facebook, she is the face of The Pittsburgh Steelers on facebook as much as anyone I’ve come across. She is a great fan, providing information to other fans as well as sharing her experiences that she’s had with current and former Steelers. Check out her interview below! Have you been a Steelers Fan your entire life, how did you get hooked?

I was born in Pittsburgh, bleeding black & gold!

What is your best/favorite memory of The Pittsburgh Steelers?

It’s really hard to pin down a favorite moment because I was around for the 70s Dynasty  team.  My most recent favorite memory is attending the Ravens playoff game at Heinz Field. The fans were so loud, we motivated the team to victory. That was the loudest I ever heard Heinz Field!

Who is your favorite player both past and present?

Everyone loves Joe Greene, Franco Harris, Rocky Bleier, Terry Bradshaw, Lynn Swann… and so do I. But one of my favorite former players is Mike Merriweather whom I’ve had the pleasure of getting to know through the SteelCity Mafia. My current favorite players are Troy Polamalu and Hines Ward, not just because they are great players but for the wonderful examples they set and for the way they give back. I also had the opportunity to hang out with Ike Taylor (more on that below) and he’s got a terrific personality. Very funny guy.

When you think of Steelers Football, what is the first thing that comes to mind?

Got 6? :) :)

Obviously, you have to LOVE the Steelers to post as many updates on Facebook and to be so involved with SteelCityMafia – explain your passion?

I grew up with 4 brothers (no sisters) and we were all into Pittsburgh sports and their passion was contageous. Even after I left home and moved away, my passion for the Steelers continued. Joining the SteelCity Mafia and linking up with other passionate fans has been an incredible experience.

You have done a lot of work being a “BOSS” for the SteelCityMafia.com, do you consider it work or fun?

It’s great fun being a (Made) Boss with the SteelCity Mafia. There’s no greater sports fan club! Our members are from all over the world and I love meeting them and hanging out with them at events.

You have meet a lot of Steelers face to face, what has that experience been like? Any good stories for us?

Most of the players I’ve met have been at autograph shows where I’ve only had a minute to say hello and of course, they don’t remember me. But I’ve developed a rapport on Facebook with Emmanuel Sanders and Mike Merriweather is a good friend of the SteelCity Mafia whom I’ve had the honor and privilege of getting to know. The best time was the 2011 James Farrior Foundation Tackling Everyday Life Celebrity Weekend June 10-12 in Richmond, VA. Everyone got to bowl and hangout with both former and current players. Some of the players I got to spend a little time with were Mike Merriweather (of course), Ike Taylor, Keyaron Fox, James Farrior and his brother Matt, and it was a great party. After a few hours we all got used to each other and were just a bunch of friends hanging out. Those are cherished memories.

Who is the greatest Steeler of All-Time and why?

I would say Joe Greene. He was key in turning around a very poor team and one of the greatest players of all time.

What do the Steelers need to do differently in 2011 to win their 7th Super Bowl?

Stay healthy!

Do you have a certain routine on gamedays for the Steelers?

Not really. I run a fan club in the DC area so game days are work until game time.

How many Steelers games have you been to in your life?

Too many to count. I’ve been to games every season since Heinz Field opened, including a number of playoff games and AFC championships.

What NFL team do you dis-like the most and why?

There are two: Ravens and Patriots. Do I really need to say why?

What is your proudest piece of Steelers Gear or Memorabillia?

My framed autographed jerseys of Terry Bradshaw and Troy Polamalu, and an autographed photo of Troy Polamalu and Mike Merriweather at a Super Bowl XLIII party. I also have a framed autographed 11×17 photo of Hines Ward making his famous leap into the end zone in Super Bowl XL.

If you could go to lunch with any Steeler, who would it be and why?

I really want to go to lunch with Emmanuel Sanders! I’ve gotta meet him! We have a great rapport on Facebook and I haven’t had the opportunity to meet him.
