Life Long Steeler Fan Kathy Williams did an interview with The Steelers Blog – Kathy is a staple in Facebook’s Largest Steeler Group called “Make The Steelers Americas Team”. Always making her comments felt inside that group Kathy is never shy about leaving her opinion when it comes to The Pittsburgh Steelers. Read Kathy’s Interview below.
Have you been a Steelers Fan your entire life, how did you get hooked?
I’ve been a Steelers fan all of my life!, I wouldn’t represent another team, for all the tea in China, my father married my mom, who was born in Pittsburgh, so, every Sunday afternoon, he’d put the game on, and we’d had to sit down, be quiet, and watch him, watch the game, he’d tell us when to cheer, and when to fuss!, ahahah.
What is your best/favorite memory of The Pittsburgh Steelers?
My favorite memory was the Immaculate reception, OMG, mom said that dad had to replace our couch, when Franco ran that ball in the end zone, I loved it myself!, I still do!
Who is your favorite player both past and present?
My favorite player back then was Banasczak, I hope I spelled his name correctly, and now, it’s Troy! both of these guys will hit yinz with such intensity, that when yinz wake up, it’d be Monday Morning!, ahahaha.
When you think of Steelers Football, what is the first thing that comes to mind?
When I think of Steelers football, I think of Excellence, yinz see, that’s why so many teams hate us, we represent excellence, we represent class, and just plain ole epic good taste!
Obviously, you have to LOVE the Steelers to do an interview with TheSteelersBlog.com – explain your passion?
I love the Pittsburgh Steelers,until I die, and when I’m dead, I’ll be Black and gold cold! When Randy Rose took me into his room, “Make the Steelers America’s Team, I was soooooooo honored to be a part of the family! I’ve never felt so welcome by so many strangers, but, anybody that loves the Steelers, aren’t strangers, we’re a family!, We’re Steeler Nation!, and we welcome anybody that has the same driven love for the team!
Who is the greatest Steeler of All-Time and why?
I think for me, it’s Jerome Bettis, that guy literally ran over yinz then, and he meant it! Kudos to the Rooneys for getting him from those rams!
What do the Steelers need to do differently in 2011 to win their 7th Super Bowl?
I think that we need to protect our QB more, plus, we need to concentrate on defense, and not let that rotten commisioner get to us, it’s obvious that he dislikes us so, and for what reason, I have no knowledge but, we shall pervail! We will get 7 Super Bowls soon, and very soon!
Do you have a certain routine on gamedays for the Steelers?
I do have a routine, and that’s what my dad did on Sundays, to turn on the game, watch it carefully, and if that phone of mine rings, I always leave a voice mail informing everybody, that if yinzs want to talk to me, yinz got to call between 8:00am to 12:59pm, after that, whatever yinz got to say, it WILL be going to voice mail, sorry!, ahaha, if yinz legs are broke, it’ll stay broke until after the game!
How many Steelers games have you been to in your life?
Here’s the beauty of this answer, I’ve NEVER been to a game, but, I’d be so happy to go to at least one of them, and I’m going to one this year, if it kills me!, I must go, it’s a way of life!
What NFL team do you dis-like the most and why?
Randy put yinz up for this answer but, I’m going to answer it, and if it gets me in trouble, so be it, I dislike those ravens/ Ratbirds, and the NE Pats, I despise ‘em! Ratbirds are always complaining about our beloved QB, how he raped somebody, how out team stinks, this or either that, well enough is enough!, the beauty of this all is just this, They can’t stand us because THEY CAN”T BEAT US! They know it, and the sooner they realize it, the better off they’ll be! They got a team of thugs on their team, and we played them close, but, close doesn’t cut it with us! They even congratulated us for losing the SB but, I feel like this, if it meant sooooooooo much to them, when they were in the burgh, they should’ve won that game but, they always come up short!
What is your proudest piece of Steelers Gear or Memorabillia?
I have a Pittsburgh coat, hats, sweatpants, shoes, Mean Joe Green’s jersey, Franco Harris’ jersey, Troy’s jersey, bathmats, blankets, I almost have it all, but, i’m always looking for more, simply because it’s Pittsburgh!
If you could go to lunch with any Steeler, who would it be and why?
If I could go to lunch with a member of the team, it’d probably be the whole team, they ALL deserve to be treated out, I’d tell them to lift their heads high, not only because we were gypped out of getting 7 in ’11, but, because WE WERE THERE! I’d tell Ben that it’s wasn’t his fault because we came up short that last game, but, because he represented excellence, nobody’s prouder than I of him!

Awesome interview. What a passionate fan. I feel fortunate to have met and spent some time with her when she was in Pittsburgh this year. I share the same disdain she has for those Ratbirds. She represents STEELER NATION very well.
