LATROBE – Former Steelers wide receiver Plaxico Burress was back at St. Vincent College this morning, meeting with coach Mike Tomlin.
Burress also met with Steelers President Art Rooney and GM Kevin Colbert, who made him his first draft pick in 2000
Burress, the Steelers’ first-round pick of the 2000 NFL Draft, spent the past two years in prison on felony weapon charges.
It is believed that the New York Giants and Steelers are the two teams he’s most interested in playing for. After playing five seasons wth the Steelers, Burress played four seasons with the Giants before going to prison.
On Friday, Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger all but begged Tomlin and Colbert to bring Burress back.
“I’ve been talking to him. I’ve been talking to him the past couple months,” Roethlisberger said.”I talked to him the other day and asked him, ‘Would you be interested in coming here?’
“I’m excited for him to come whenever he comes here.”
There’s speculation that the Philadelphia Eagles are also interested in Burress.

Well this Is the way I look at the whole Burress deal If we sign him I’ll be okay with It cause he Is a tall target and he would be a great Red Zone play maker and If we don’t sign him we have plenty of other WR’s that can and will get the job done so we will just have to wait and see what happens and plus a BIG plus the money has to be right I don’t want us to sign Plax and lose some other key players we couldn’t afford cause Plax cost so much so the money has to work and fit In with the team.
